U.S. shares do not travel warning for popular cruise destination

The Mexican port joins Haiti on the list of places, too dangerous to even consider visiting. Related: U.S. government raises warnings for two popular vacation destinations · The State Department warning urges not to travel to the area "due to crime and kidnapping.""Level 3: Reconsider Travel" and "Level 4: Do Not Travel" are much more serious, but even when those are issued, cruise lines do not always follow them. Usually, that's for special circumstances where a cruise port is far from the area where the warning has been issued. That's why Royal Caribbean still visits its Labadee, Haiti, private destination, despite a Level 4 warning for the entire country; and why both Royal and Carnival still stop in Roatan, Honduras, despite it being under a Level 3 advisory. All warnings, however, are not created equal. The lightest two travel advisories the State Department issues, Level 1: Exercise Normal Caution and Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution, amount to the government telling you to be careful. It's not a very safe world. That becomes obvious when you visit the U.S. State Department website and see how many countries are subject to some form of travel warning.

Another travel warning gets issued about popular European destination

The "exercise increased caution" advisory was brought back at the end of December. The "exercise increased caution" advisory was reissued with a new travel advisory warning against the risk of terrorism in major cities; the ranking puts Spain at the same level as fellow European countries such as France and Germany as well as Mexico and, most recently, China. Related: U.S. government raises warnings for two popular vacation destinationsAt the start of December, the State Department lowered its travel advisory for mainland China from level three's "reconsider travel" to level two's "exercise increased caution." This came in response to the Chinese government being the first to make it significantly easier for Americans to visit by expanding its visa-free transit policy to a maximum of 10 days and, for those applying for a visa, getting rid of the requirement to have a booked plane ticket and hotel stay before it is granted.Other countries to receive renewed travel advisories in December include Belarus, which remains at the highest "do not travel" level due to its government's facilitation of the war in Ukraine, and Honduras and Costa Rica.Costa Rica, which is also popular with tourists coming to stay at resorts and ranked at level two, has been seeing an increase in petty crime, while Honduras is at "reconsider travel" due to higher rates of drug trafficking and violent crime.

How to Become a Successful Travel Blogger in 2024

Here are my nine tried-and-true (and not-so-conventional) travel blogging tips on how to stand out, make money, and succeed online! If everyone is doing one-off blog posts, create a story through a series of posts that keep people coming back for more. Always innovate — do something different and unique. One thing we do here that makes us different is that we put a level of detail into our posts that no one else does. We make our posts the ultimate guides on destinations.Whether it’s RV travel, hiking and camping adventures, vegan travel, or focusing on a specific city or country, the power of search lets everyone define their niche and still be able to reach millions of potential readers. In fact, being niche now is better than trying to be a more general resource site like mine. Moreover, focusing lets you become an expert. You can be the person to whom readers always turn for information on this subject or that destination, which allows you to cultivate a bigger presence online.Because they want an independent opinion on destinations. If everything you write is sponsored by someone, you’ll hit a limit to your number of readers. Sure, some people won’t care and will follow your adventures no matter what, but a larger majority of people will feel that you can’t relate to their experience and will seek to find information elsewhere. Consumers want relatable and independent travel content because they want to learn that they can make it happen too.As someone who has been blogging – very successfully – for over fifteen years, I want to share my advice on what has worked for me to counterbalance what I see is bad strategy by others. Travel blogging is a crowded field — and it gets more crowded by the day.
